Kyoto Prefecture has announced that it has been newly confirmed that 10 people in the prefecture have been infected with the new coronavirus "Omicron strain".


Seven of them have unknown infection routes, and Kyoto Prefecture has a high possibility of new community-acquired infections.

According to Kyoto Prefecture, 10 new cases of infection with the "Omicron strain" were confirmed in all men and women in their 30s and 40s living in Kyoto City.



Ten people were admitted to a hospital in the prefecture, and all were asymptomatic or mild.

Of these, seven have unknown infection routes and have no history of traveling abroad, and Kyoto Prefecture states that "there is a high possibility of a new community-acquired infection."



This brings the total number of people confirmed to be infected with the Omicron strain in Kyoto Prefecture to 28.
