In the afternoon of December 26, in Qinghai Province, the province where the Yellow River originated, staff from the Qinghai National Park Bird Watching Association photographed whooper swans coming to "overwinter" on the banks of the Yellow River.

On the Yellow River in Hualong Hui Autonomous County, Haidong City, Qinghai Province, whooper swans cruise or play leisurely. The picture is warm and harmonious, and it forms a plateau landscape picture with the trees and mist on both sides of the bank.

  Among the many swans, one who wears a 1T83 ring mark on the neck is particularly eye-catching. This clearly marked whooper swan has been here for the second time to overwinter.

  The chairman of Qinghai National Park Bird Watching Association said: “Last year and this year, we recorded No. 1T45, 1T81, 1T83 whooper swans in the upper reaches of the Yellow River. After consulting with experts from the National Bird Watching Center, No. 1T45 Whooper Swan belongs to Mongolia.   The International Circle of Whooper Swan is one of the projects of the Global Bird Flu Surveillance Network. In the summer of 2011, the International Ornithological Researcher put on the "1T" series of ring flags for 101 whooper swans in western Mongolia and released them. No. 1T45, 1T81, 1T83. The swan is among them. The basic information about the migration, distribution and living environment of the whooper swan can be obtained through the ring log, which provides a scientific basis for the protection of whooper swan and the prevention and control of avian influenza.
