For the players in the statue circle, Kaitian Studio is no stranger to the world. They have made global players feel shocked by the "Chinese texture" in the dominant model game market in Japan and the United States.

At the same time, the Guofeng series of sculptures originally designed by Kaitian Studio has allowed more people to see the heritage of Chinese traditional culture.

On the basis of freehand brushwork and vividness, they made statues with Chinese characteristics that make everyone feel cordial.

A statue has one hundred thousand hairs

In the corner of the Kaitian studio, there is a 1:1 Wonder Woman statue with a market price of $3,299.

She is made of platinum silicone, which feels almost the same as touching a real person.

According to Zhu Jiaqi, the founder of Kaitian Studio, the statue's hair is planted one by one, nearly 100,000 hairs.

In the hairline and temples, they also referenced the quality of real human hair and blended a variety of hairs together to give the feeling of lanugo hair.

And in order to make this Wonder Woman have eyes, they tested the angle of the eyeball reflections and deliberately adjusted the muscles of the eyelids, literally achieving the finishing touch.

"From the end of 2017 to the beginning of the display of the copyright, the entire process took more than two years. The shipment has not been completed until now. This is very difficult to produce. Therefore, we have been urged all the year round, and we have been urged all the year round. Scolded,'Oh, why isn't it shipped yet'." Zhu Jiaqi smiled helplessly.

The process of making the statue is far more complicated than everyone thought.

Kaitian has a strong team of designers in the industry, with more than 50 designers scattered in 4 departments-conceptual design, sub-parts, 3D printing, and mold repair.

In the planning stage, it is necessary to first produce a concept draft, determine the proportion of the statue, and make a rough concept setting.

After at least three major discussions, the concept draft was refined and modeled.

According to the three views, the splitting personnel will disassemble the parts again, and optimize the model file with a size of tens of GB into 1 G that can be supported by the 3D printer.

After the printing is completed, the finished product department will assemble, polish and color them.

Finally, it is sent to the factory, and the factory will repeat the sample according to the sample.

As Zhu Jiaqi said, the process is simple, but it is actually very complicated.

Even if the actual statue is going to be produced, some accessories or other details may still be adjusted and return to the modeling stage.

In order to refine the Erlang Shen Yang Jian, his colleagues topless, stepped on the wooden box and the steel frame, presenting the spirit of Erlang Shen in 360 degrees.

The designer optimized the modeling details of the statue based on hundreds of real-life pictures.

In the production of "Zhao Yun Save A Dou," the staff of Kaitian used his newborn child as a model to restore the crying A Dou in the baby.

"So it's very vivid and vivid. It reveals a strong fatherly love." Zhu Jiaqi said with emotion.

"Five Tigers" to "Xiaoya Ji":

Statues for the Chinese

Zhao Yun is the first statue of Kaitian Studio.

The production motive is very simple, Zhao Zilong "is all courageous", is a character that many men yearn for.

There are many American statues and Japanese figures on the market, but Chinese statues are missing.

With the original intention of "making statues for the Chinese", the three founders came together.

As a result, one Zhao Yun became five generals.

When making each character, they will consider the cultural and geographic attributes of the character.

"The horses of our five tiger generals are all different." Zhang Fei is located in the middle of Shu, and the climate is not so cold, so the fur on the mount can be a little less; Ma Chao is from Xiliang and the climate is colder, so his horse hair can be better. Heavy.

In addition, Zhu Jiaqi also designed an eagle for Huang Zhong. "This is an addition to him based on the background of the military generals in the Han Dynasty who train their eagles, so that it can naturally reflect his feeling of being strong and strong."

"In fact, we design things by combining modern aesthetics with traditional elements. All design elements are traditional." Zhu Jiaqi said.

As the model director and studio founder, Luo Qisheng has always tried to use realistic techniques to express Chinese charm.

"I like the mottled painted statues in ancient temples, and the exquisite and lovely pottery figurines in museums. I like the graceful human body in ancient Greece and the elegant lines of Gandhara. I hope to collect in my series works from different eras. Mei, I would like to name them: "Xiaoya Ji"."

The three words "Beauty Walk" are the name of a poem by Du Fu. The first sentence of the poem is "The weather is new on March 3, and there are many beautiful people by the water in Chang'an." Kaitian's "Beauty Walk" is restored with a statue of God. The Allure Beauty in Du Fu's Poems.

From the original Zhao Yun, to the "Five Tigers" and then to the "Xiao Ya Ji" series, the exhibition room of Kaitian became more and more crowded and had to move to a larger place.

Twelve Beast Heads: Reappearing the glory of Haiyantang

Among the many statues in the exhibition room, the twelve beast heads series are relatively small in size, but their presence is no less than that of any statue.

In 2019, Kaitian decided to cooperate with the National Library of China to restore the full-length portraits of the twelve beast heads based on the "Old Summer Palace and Changchun Garden" in its collection. When Xiaoxin went to visit, it happened that the "Chenlong" statue was being refined, Zhu Jiaqi introduced , "The painters restored the specific image of the Chinese zodiac based on the part of Haiyantang in the original painting."

Due to Qianlong's pursuit of realistic aesthetic taste, the folds and fluff on the beast's head were clearly portrayed vividly.

This characteristic has also been perfectly and meticulously restored by Kaitian.

The roots are visible and subtle.

In addition, they also consulted a lot of relevant materials to restore the appearance of the destroyed platform, "So you can now see that the patterns on the front and side of the platform are specific and elegant."

Zhu Jiaqi also left a careful thought in the design. Each beast capital of the Chinese zodiac can be removed separately, and it can be pieced together with its own magnet.

"Actually, this can be taken out as a whole, but at the time I asked that my head must be sucked up with an independent magnet. Because I think this also represents a kind of commemoration, after all, they were cut off like this at the time." Zhu Jiaqi explained.

The founder of the studio, Yu Guanglai, once said that the full-length portrait of the twelve zodiac animal heads in Kaitian Studio hopes to reproduce the glory of the Haiyantang hydraulic clock. While igniting the splendid spark that continues Chinese civilization, I hope that The twelve beast heads can make everyone feel the hope and power hidden in time.

Whether it is to make original national style statues, or to make Batman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman IP statues, Zhu Jiaqi believes that they have not deviated from the original intention of "what do you like and do".

"But doing traditional Chinese things, I think it is not just a matter of liking, it has a sense of responsibility. Since it is a Chinese studio, since it is called Kaitian, the team is local, I think we have the responsibility to be a Chinese original s things."

Zhu Jiaqi pointed to the logo on the cultural shirt, which was designed when the studio was founded.

"Open the sky, Pangu opens the sky. Stand on the mountain and chop with an axe. After the sky opens, the first ray of sunlight will come in. Its English name is infinity. Infinity means infinite breakthrough and infinite possibilities."
