In the case of a clinic arson in Kita-ku, Osaka, where 25 people were killed, the suspect had no intention of escaping from the burning room, according to an interview with investigators.

Police are investigating that they have attempted suicide with unrelated people.

On the 17th of this month, 25 people involved were killed and one was seriously injured in the arson of a psychosomatic medicine clinic on the 4th floor of a building in Kita-ku, Osaka.

Police are investigating Morio Tanimoto (61), who is in a serious condition apart from these 26 people, on suspicion of murder and arson.

According to the police, the clinic's security camera showed the whole story of Tanimoto sprinkling gasoline and igniting it until it burned, but at this time, the suspect was trying to escape. It was found by interviewing the investigators that it was not.

After igniting the fire near the doorway, he headed for the flame to rise, and when he was rescued, he collapsed near the center of the hospital.

While the suspect is suspected of targeting a busy time with many people, previous investigations have not confirmed any trouble with the clinic.

For this reason, police are investigating that Tanimoto attempted a suicide called "extended suicide" in which unrelated people were involved in the death.
