Environmental protesters have blocked roads in Serbia for the third weekend in a row to oppose plans to mine lithium, despite an attempt by the country's populist government to defuse the protests by accepting major demands from organizers.

It is a lithium mining project that is getting a lot of attention and is causing a nationwide wave of protests in Serbia.

The Yadar mine, which the multinational Rio Tinto wants to open in the west of the country, has angered the population.

On the spot, the inhabitants, who risk being displaced, organize resistance.
