What tone to adopt with the Taliban?
Unease at the UN last week when the Taliban government's foreign minister asked to speak on behalf of Afghanistan before the UN General Assembly.
A request too late to be taken into account, replied a UN official.
This situation illustrates the question that arises a month and a half after the capture of Kabul by the insurgents: what diplomacy towards the Taliban?
To discuss is to legitimize their regime?
Is dialogue essential in the name of the humanitarian emergency in Afghanistan?
Who to lead this dialogue?
