In order to protect children from traffic accidents, the police station in Chiba Prefecture has created a map that summarizes dangerous places on the school road and publishes it on its website.

This map was created by the Futtsu Police Station in response to an accident in which five elementary school students who were leaving school in Yachimata City, Chiba Prefecture, were hit by a truck and were killed or injured.

It is organized by eight elementary schools in Futtsu City, and is color-coded so that you can see at a glance where there are no roads or sidewalks with heavy traffic among the surrounding school routes.

In addition, an enlarged map is attached to intersections where accidents are likely to occur, and notes such as poor visibility for drivers and many children crossing are written.

These maps are published on the homepage of the Futtsu Police Station, and the police will cooperate with related businesses such as buses and taxis, and will update the maps once a year in the future.

Kenichiro Miyauchi, Chief of the Transportation Division of the Futtsu Police Station, said, "We want to promote safety education for children and encourage drivers to drive with an awareness of protecting children's safety."
