On December 26, local time, the London police stated that a man with a crossbow was arrested for trying to trespass at Windsor Castle on Christmas Eve and is currently in custody under the provisions of the Mental Health Act.

  A 19-year-old man from Southampton, southern England, slipped into the courtyard of the castle on Christmas morning and was stopped shortly after.

He did not break into any buildings.

The police then searched the man and found a crossbow.

  Queen Elizabeth II of England was celebrating Christmas with Prince Charles and his wife and other relatives in Windsor Castle.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the queen stayed in this castle most of the time.

  The police stated that the man was detained and received a mental health assessment, and was given medical care in accordance with the provisions of the Mental Health Law. He was taken care of by professional medical staff.
