“President Cyril Ramaphosa expresses deep sorrow on behalf of all South Africans at the death of Archbishop Honorary Desmond Mpilo Tutu today, Sunday, December 26, 2021,” the office said in a statement.

The Nobel Prize was awarded to Tutu in 1984 for her leadership in the anti-apartheid campaign.

Earlier it became known about the death of the 1991 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, Richard Ernst.
