Cinema Today looks

back on a film released this Wednesday, December 22 in French theaters, a film that came out of the overflowing imagination of the little geniuses of the Illumination Entertainment studio (

Moche et méchant

,

Les Minions

).

Tous en scene 2,

by Briton Garth Jennings, is an animal musical, set in a city that looks like two drops of water in Las Vegas.

Five years ago,

Tous en scène

followed the crazy adventure of a koala crazy about show-bizz and his troop: Johnny the gorilla, Meeta the elephant, Ash a pretty female porcupine pig and especially the sow Rosita, mother of respectable family with a stamp to make Lady Gaga green with envy.

So here they are again, ready to conquer the most coveted palace in Las Vegas, with the help of a grizzled lion, ex-rock star who has retired for the big night.

The principle of the film has not changed one iota: each animal is interpreted by a star.

Reese Witherspoon is the sow, Matthew McConaughey, the koala, Scarlett Johansson, the porcupine ... and so on, more a newcomer and not the least, since it is Bono, the leader of the group U2, who plays the old lion.

The result is a sort of monstrous jukebox.

Rather than telling a story that holds so little road, Garth Jennings prefers to don the visual gags and covers.

The spectators will probably not have more than a millisecond to appreciate them as the pace is frantic.

But knowing that the original grossed over $ 630 million worldwide, it's hard to imagine the public will miss out on this recall.
