A series of cases of Omicron strains appear to be community-acquired, and the government has decided to hurry the third vaccination of elderly people.

Under these circumstances, 14 of the 23 wards of Tokyo are planning to start vaccination of residents of nursing homes ahead of schedule, either already or by the end of the year.

Regarding the third vaccination, the government has targeted medical professionals to shorten the interval from the second vaccination from 8 months to 6 months in principle, as well as residents and use of facilities for the elderly at high risk of aggravation. It shows the policy of expanding to people and employees of the facility.

In response to this, NHK asked the 23 wards of Tokyo on the 23rd about how to proceed with inoculation, and 17 wards have already decided the schedule such as ahead of schedule, and the remaining 6 wards are also ahead of schedule. I answered that I am considering it.

And there are 14 local governments that have already started the third inoculation to the residents of the elderly facility ahead of schedule or plan to start it by the end of the year. It is up to about 2 months from the schedule, and about 1 month in other local governments.

On the other hand, when we asked the government about the advancement of vaccination, many people said, "I want you to make adjustments so that you do not run out of vaccines" and "I want you to have a stable and reliable supply." There were also harsh comments such as "the information from the vaccine is slow" and "the national policy has changed and caused confusion in the field."
