In Zhong Nanshan’s view, Omi Keron is developing rapidly and has a trend of expansion. “It took 2 months for the Delta strain to become a mainstream strain. The Omi Keron strain was released in October this year. After being discovered, it is expected that the number of infections will continue to increase during this period."
Zhong Nanshan said that 72% of the new cases in the United States were infected with the Omi Keron strain. "So in the face of Omi Keron, we must not take it lightly and must be highly vigilant."
Regarding how to deal with Omi Keron mutant strains, Zhong Nanshan said that knowledge and experts should be respected. When formulating policies, expert opinions should be considered, accurate tracking, scientific prevention and control, and the greatest possible reduction in the impact on social production.
