[Explanation] Przewalski's gazelle, China's national first-class protected animal, is the least abundant species of mammals unique to China, and it is also the most endangered species of ungulates in the world.

The census showed that the population of Przewalski's gazelle in 2007 was about 300, and the current average annual population of Przewalski's gazelle is stable at more than 2,700.

[Explanation] The lakeside area of Qinghai Lake is the only remaining habitat of Przewalski's gazelle in the world. Here is the only Przewalski's gazelle protection station in China-Qinghai Lake National Nature Reserve South Bank Protection Station, where 70 Przewalski gazelle live here .

In November each year, the Przewalski gazelle enters the mating period, which lasts until the end of January of the following year, and the gestation period is 185 days.

Every winter after the Przewalski's gazelle enters the mating period, the rams fight for the female Przewalski's gazelle. They fight with each other particularly fiercely. The males who have defeated each act alone, without the right to mate, and the winning group of females is occupied. In the future, they will divide their own territories until the end of January when the mating ends, the rams and ewes will form a large herd.

We patrol every day to prevent injuries and disability among the rams. If we find out during patrols, we will take appropriate measures to treat and bandage them in time.

Every day, we also inspect the net fences to prevent stray dogs and foxes from entering the Przewalski's gazelle activity area, and (prevent) its population from being disturbed and injured.

We will conduct three inspections a day, mainly to monitor the population of Przewalski's gazelle. During daily inspections, we will add some corn, oats, and grass to the Przewalski gazelle to ensure the nutrition of the Przewalski gazelle. We will replace it in about three days. Once water, let it eat enough fresh water.

[Explanation] Since its establishment, from scratch, from small to large, the number of artificially domesticated and reproduced populations has increased year by year, accumulating valuable experience for the protection and research of this critically endangered species.

In the future, the Qinghai Lake National Nature Reserve Administration will also rely on the South Bank Conservation Station to establish a Przewalski's gazelle rescue and research center to provide a more scientific and comprehensive protection mechanism from gene bank construction and pedigree management to rescue, rewilding, and reintroduction. .
