Okinawa Prefecture announced on the 23rd that it was confirmed that four people, including a Japanese employee working at Camp Hansen in the United States Armed Forces, were newly infected with the new Corona Omicron strain.

According to the prefecture, infection with the Omicron strain was confirmed in three male and female Japanese employees in their 30s and 50s working at Camp Hansen in the US Army, and one Japanese male under the age of 10.



Men under the age of 10 are a family member of previously identified Omicron strains.



All four have no severe symptoms.



This brings the number of people infected with the Omicron strain to 10 in Okinawa Prefecture.



In addition, on the 23rd, the US military reported that 27 people had been infected with the prefecture.
