Advertising breaks must be made in harmony with the continuity of a program, as in the case of a change of scene.

The purpose of the provision is to protect viewers' opportunities to be able to follow programs undisturbed, the Review Board writes in a press release.

The board condemns Nent for the misplaced advertising interruption, but at the same time acquits four advertising interruptions in the film that do not contravene the provision.

This is the first time Nent has been convicted by the board and they therefore believe that there is no reason to apply to the administrative court this time for the broadcaster to pay a so-called special fee.

The broadcaster's TV channels TV3, TV6, TV8 and TV10 have been subject to Swedish law since 1 January 2021.

This is since Nent moved its broadcasting licenses from the UK to Sweden.
