The launch of childhood immunizations could not afford less publicity.

On Saturday, six children "mistakenly" received too much of the Pfizer vaccine in Le Mans.

The Sarthe vaccination center received the visit of Prime Minister Jean Castex the same day.

Three days after the injection, the territorial directorate of the regional health agency said the children were in a "reassuring state", specifying that two children were still being "monitored".

"A child still has fever, only fever", paracetamol "was administered" and a second child has "a small pain in the arm", detailed the ARS.

A third child had "fatigue and pain in her arm, but these symptoms disappeared" Monday morning.

The other three children did not have symptoms, she added.

The overdose was "seen right away"

These children had received a dose of 20 µg (micrograms) of Pfizer Comirnaty at the departmental large capacity vaccination center in Le Mans.

Normally, the dose administered for 5-11 year olds corresponds to 10 micrograms of pediatric Pfizer and is increased to 30 micrograms of Pfizer Comirnaty from 12 years, had specified prefecture and ARS.

Of the overdosed children, three are 10 years old, two are 11 years old, a sixth is 8 years old.

The overdose that occurred on Saturday was "seen immediately", underlined Monday the territorial direction of the ARS and "the protocol of preparation [of the doses of vaccine] was reviewed by the teams".

The parents of the children were recalled Monday by the head doctor of the departmental fire and rescue service (Sdis) to take stock again after the weekend.
