It's a bit paradoxical: Of all things, the delivery of software, namely the Windows 3.0 operating system in 1990, led to a new run on solitaire card games.

Patience, known both under the name “Klondike” and “Solitaire”, which was part of the operating system, turned out to be an addicting pastime for young and old. In the Windows versions that are currently being delivered, you are now looking for the game in vain, it could be however, install it as an app.

This, in turn, is definitely unnecessary once you have opened Pandora's game box in the form of the multilingual website https://worldofsolitaire.com. There is the most comprehensive collection of solitaire games known to me, around 120 of them. All of these patience can of course be played online, but that's not all.

In the “Options” section you can choose between sixteen different decks of cards or sheets, design the background as you wish, such as concrete, green card table or a wallpaper pattern - and search for various criteria under the “Choose Games” navigation button: Should it be a solitaire with a simple one or a complex set of rules? Do you prefer a high or low chance of winning, short “snacks” or long rounds? You can select all of this and much more using the "checkboxes". Video game instructions help you learn the variants. And when you register on the website, you can save your preferences. Have fun!

Now our riddle:

Which Asian placement game is conceptually similar to the card game Rummy, but can also be played as a solitaire?
