Regarding the third inoculation of the new coronavirus vaccine, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has expanded the scope of shortening the interval from the second to 6 months to general medical staff and residents of facilities for the elderly.

It means that you can get the vaccination ticket even if you cannot make it in time.

Regarding the third vaccination, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare stated that the interval from the second vaccination, which had been 8 months or more in principle, can be shortened to 6 months only for medical institutions where clusters have occurred.

However, as infections of the new coronavirus "Omicron strain" have been confirmed one after another, local governments and medical associations have called for the advancement of inoculation, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has targeted the target that can be shortened to 6 months on the 17th. Expanded and notified the local government.

The new target is estimated to be approximately 15 million people, including healthcare professionals, residents, users, and employees of facilities for the elderly.

In principle, an inoculation ticket is required for inoculation, but it means that you can receive the inoculation even if the local government does not ship it in time and you do not receive it.

In addition, for the general elderly, the inoculation interval will be shortened to 7 months from February next year.

The vaccination ticket is expected to arrive in advance, and the target population is expected to be approximately 17 million.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare initially planned to deliver 37 million vaccines to local governments by February next year, but with this advancement, it has decided to deliver an additional 5 million vaccines from the national inventory.
