The vaccination of certain children against Covid-19 must begin on Monday, December 20 in Toulouse and Haute-Garonne.

After the green light from the High Authority for Health and the Vaccine Strategy Steering Committee, the prefecture announces that slots, by appointment, will open for eligible children aged 5 to 11.

For the time being, these are children "at risk of a severe form of Covid-19" or "living in the entourage of an immunocompromised person".

The first “pediatric” doses of the Pfizer vaccine will initially be available in the vaccination centers of the Toulouse University Hospital, Lespinasse, Villefranche de Lauragais and Montastruc-la-Conseillère.

"This offer will be gradually expanded with, from December 27, the possibility of having your child vaccinated by his attending physician and the opening of dedicated lines on new vaccination centers, including that of the municipal vaccination center of La Daurade. in Toulouse ”, specifies the prefecture.

Always without appointment for seniors

At the other end of the age pyramid, those over 65 can be vaccinated everywhere and without an appointment until “at least December 31”.

And, last reminder, the “booster” will be done with Moderna for those over 30, even if a Pfizer vaccine was mentioned when they made their appointment.
