A Syrian artist announces that he has obtained Saudi citizenship

The Syrian actor, Muhammad al-Qass, announced that he had obtained Saudi citizenship, and said in a tweet that he considered a campaign for the Kingdom's citizenship as "a mandate before it would be a matter of pride and honor."

In his tweet, the priest thanked Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The priest is a Syrian actor who has lived in Saudi Arabia for years, and has participated in many Saudi artworks, most notably the Hyperloop series, Rashcha, and the film The Departed.

Riyadh had announced the opening of the door for naturalization to legal, medical, scientific, cultural, sports and technical competencies, "in a way that contributes to promoting the wheel of development and benefits the country in various fields," according to the official news agency, SPA.

The agency pointed out that this comes in line with Vision 2030, "aiming to enhance the attractive environment in which human competencies can be invested and attract distinguished and creative people."

In May of 2019, Saudi Arabia approved the Premium Residency System within the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which grants the beneficiary a number of benefits in return for a one-time fee to obtain permanent residency, or annually in exchange for obtaining temporary residency with the same benefits.
