Rehabilitation of existing basins, creation of three new facilities, the objective is simple: we must improve the offer with regard to municipal water bodies.

With ten basins in Nice, "the number of swimming pools is insufficient [the town is below the average French ratio which is one basin per 10,000 inhabitants]", judges the mayor Christian Estrosi.

And the equipment is sometimes "outdated".

"There is a lack of water lines for the public, for the clubs but also for the visitors", notes the elected representative of Nice, evoking a little diversified offer.

He then presented "a swimming pool plan" by insisting on the dimension of attractiveness to be reinforced by giving important niches to the hoteliers of Nice.

Thus, three new swimming pools will be built and delivered between the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2028, including one at the city of sports with two pools of 50 m.

The other two will be at the Carras nautical base and at the port of Nice, with seawater pools and a "diving" area.

At the same time, the Ariane, St-Roch, St-Augustin, Comte de Falicon and Piole basins will be rehabilitated.

The amount of investments planned by the town hall is estimated at 120 million euros.
