Symptoms that distinguish the mutant "Omicron" from others

Experts from South Africa have revealed unusual symptoms in people with the "Omicron" strain.

And the British newspaper, “The Sun”, reported that doctors recorded back pain and sore throat in patients infected with the new mutant of the Corona virus “Omicron”.

Doctors also noted that patients with an omicron strain were 23 percent less likely to end up in hospitals than those with a delta strain.

According to "Sputnik", which carried the report.

African experts pointed to the importance of self-isolation when detecting symptoms of infection in order to prevent the spread of infection, stressing that many citizens feel discomfort in the throat due to acute inflammation of the respiratory system.

Ryan Roach, chief executive of Discovery Health, South Africa's largest private health insurance company, said experts noticed different symptoms when conducting the study.

He continued, "This is usually followed by nasal congestion with other common symptoms such as dry cough and lower back pain," adding that while most cases were mild, this does not mean that the virus is not more transmissible.

And the World Health Organization announced earlier that the "Omicron" mutant, which appeared in South Africa recently, has spread to 63 countries around the world, and it is likely that it will be more prevalent than the "Delta" strain.

The organization says that there is evidence that the “Omicron” strain of the Corona virus is spreading at an unprecedented rate, and that vaccines are becoming less effective in preventing severe cases or death from the virus.
