Surgeons at the Armand-Brillard private hospital in Nogent-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne) now have at their disposal an advanced robot to help them during cancer operations, reports Actu Val-de-Marne on Wednesday.
Thanks to Da Vinci X, which will be used mainly for surgery for urological and digestive cancers, the length of hospital stay and postoperative pain for patients can be reduced.
A "more precise" surgery
According to Doctor Frédéric Thibault, urological surgeon at the hospital, this robot allows “more precise” surgery, facilitating the preservation of the patient's healthy tissues.
The arrival of this new equipment, already present in 190 hospitals and clinics in France, was welcomed by the mayor of the city Jacques JP Martin.
The acquisition of this robot is part of the development, by the Ramsay Santé group in charge of the hospital, of an oncology institute at their Ile-de-France East pole.
The latter also includes the private hospitals Paul d'Egine in Champigny-sur-Marne and Marne-la-Vallée in Bry-sur-Marne.
