The managers of the winter sports resorts in the Pays de Savoie region are satisfied with the reservations made for the 2021-2022 winter holidays.

The figures for certain periods are close to those of 2019, when tourist attendance records were broken.

The average booking rate exceeds 80% during New Year's week, reports France Bleu Pays de Savoie.

Some stations have even already filled up with visitors that week and can no longer accept new reservations.

As for Christmas week, hotels and other residences have an occupancy rate of between 60 and 70%, or 13 points less than in 2019. The other reserve of mountain tourism professionals concerns foreign customers.

The unenthusiastic British

The latter are struggling to make their return to the alpine resorts or have canceled their visit.

This is particularly the case of British visitors, in whom adolescents are less vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The obligation of daily screening to be able to benefit from a health pass has cooled more than one, even if the Savoyard stations often have easily accessible test centers.
