Grenoble Alpes Métropole (Isère) has announced its desire "to submit a new file" with the aim of obtaining the possibility of regulating the rents of housing located on its territory.
The measure allows donors to avoid setting exorbitant prices by setting up a ceiling that must not be crossed.
A regulated rent cannot therefore exceed by more than 20% a reference value established by the prefect of the department.
Second chance
The metropolitan majority had already wanted to implement such a measure in November 2020, recalls
Le Dauphiné Libéré
.
She wanted to be able to test it in 28 municipalities.
The Ministry of Housing had finally refused, believing that "the rental market in the Grenoble agglomeration does not show signs of tension".
The local authority will be able to try its luck again next January.
The differentiation, decentralization, deconcentration and simplification (3DS) law should be voted and then adopted by the National Assembly on that date and allow the metropolis to submit a request.
To increase its chances of success, Grenoble Alpes Métropole could also limit the areas where it wants to see the rental regulations applied.
