On November 16, several brands of reblochon were recalled by Recall Conso after a case of brucellosis noted in a breeding in Haute-Savoie.
A bovine had thus been contaminated in a herd of 219 animals, in the town of Saint-Laurent.
The whole herd will be slaughtered, reports France 3 Auvergne Rhône-Alpes on Tuesday, even if the date has not yet been set.
Farmers demand new measures
Farmers and a veterinarian had mobilized in recent weeks to support the couple of breeders.
But a meeting between the Ministry of Agriculture, the Directorate of Veterinary Services and the FNSEA ultimately decided that all cows should be eliminated.
“We prefer to slaughter than to seek.
(…) All the other animals were tested and all the results came back negative ”, confides the veterinarian to our colleagues.

For professionals, the law must be reviewed to avoid slaughtering an entire herd.
They are calling for new animal tracking measures.
"We are not leaving any chance" deplores with France 3 the owner of the herd, which should be slaughtered after the end of the year celebrations.
