As of 11:30 a.m. on December 13th, local time, since December 4th, there have been more than 290 earthquakes of magnitude 1 or higher in the coastal waters of the Tukara Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan.

  On December 9, a series of earthquakes occurred on Oshijima in Toshima Village, Kagoshima Prefecture. An earthquake with a magnitude of 5 or higher according to the Japanese standard earthquake was observed, and local residents who had taken refuge began to evacuate.

Of the 75 islanders on Bad Rock Island, 40% of them are residents, and about 30 people expressed their wish to take refuge outside the island.

  The local meteorological department urged that in the next few weeks, attention should be paid to earthquakes with a magnitude of 5 or higher in Japan's standard seismic intensity.
