Art advisor and former gallery owner Eva Livijn-Olin has exhibitions a couple of times a year at home on Östermalm in Stockholm.

Right now she is showing works by Charlotte Birnbaum.

The exhibition The theater of the dining table is curated by the actor Andreas T. Olsson, and visitors are received on request.

In the video you can see and hear more about the exhibition.

- People love it!

It will be a different closeness, says Eva Livijn-Olin about the response.

At the same time, it is Stockholm's inner city, Östermalm.

Who comes here?

- It is mixed, interested in art and also those who want to learn more.

I think it is very fun to invite different people and there are many who do not live in the inner city, who may be visiting an Östermalm apartment for the first time.

Aalto architecture and abstract painting

Eva Livijn-Olin is not alone in bringing art into a more personal sphere.

Architect Klara Frosterud is now opening the doors to her Aalto-inspired 70s villa in Danderyd, and exhibiting Albin Wiberg's expressive paintings.

She calls the home gallery "Hallery", and combines architecture with art.

- By inviting to my home, I make art more accessible, she says.

The gallery is open on certain weekends, and also receives visitors on request.

The art collective that only exhibits in apartments

The art collective Flat octopus has seven members with varying backgrounds.

They were formed in 2019 and have as a concept to exhibit in both their own and others' apartments.

- We often work with up and coming artists who are not so well known, says the artist Alice Máselníková.

So far, they have worked in the city of Stockholm and the suburbs, and in Uppsala.

But when the situation allows, Flat octopus wants to spread its tentacles around the country and also internationally, and hopes to find new apartments and collaborations through open calls - ie announcements.

- One hope is to create interest in art among the local population, by inviting neighbors in different areas.
