"Xposure" Sharjah launches a permanent international exhibition of photography

Each month, the gallery hosts a selection of the most notable works of photography.

The International Photography Festival "Xposure", organized by the Sharjah Government Media Office, announced the launch of the permanent international exhibition of photography in Sharjah (Gallery X), which was one of the innovative initiatives in the fifth edition of (Xposure) 2021.

The exhibition, which opens its doors from December 20 at Al Majaz Theater in Sharjah, hosts every month a collection of the most prominent photographic works of leading Emirati, Arab and foreign photographers, to give the audience the opportunity to view exceptional photos taken by professionals from around the world.

Gallery X offers an integrated creative and artistic space, as it periodically organizes a series of workshops for photography enthusiasts and professionals presented by a group of the world’s leading photographers, and includes a café open to visitors, and a reading area that allows the building of a community of photographers and those interested in visual arts in one interactive environment .

It opens its exhibits with works by Italian Francesco Zizola and Britain's Anthony Lamb.

Tariq Alai, Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Office, said: “We are keen to add a sustainable vitality to receiving the aesthetics of photography through the permanent exhibition, to keep amateurs, professionals and the public in general connected to the art of the image throughout the year, and to give photography lovers additional opportunities for training by hand. Senior photographers and the most skilled experts in this art, through the workshops that will accompany the monthly shows.”
