Zhong Nanshan believes that adequate injection of vaccines into a certain proportion of the population can achieve the purpose of herd immunity. According to evaluation, China must meet the theoretical requirements for herd immunity and 83% of the population must complete the vaccination.
At present, the population of China who has completed the entire vaccination process has reached 1.15 billion, accounting for 81.9% of the national population.
Zhong Nanshan said that by the end of 2021, he is confident that China's vaccine injection rate will reach 83%, laying a solid foundation for herd immunity.
Zhong Nanshan pointed out that the booster vaccine made in China is real and effective.
He also said that he is strengthening research on how to improve the efficiency of vaccination.
