While the election of "Miss France 2021" will take place this evening, the "Correspondents' round the world" takes us to Togo, Japan, the United States and Ireland.

Ten days ago, Miss Nevada was the first transgender woman to enter the national pageant. 

► In Ireland, Pamela Uba is the country's first non-white Miss, in the competition's 74 years.
