The semi-finals of the 2021 Arab Football Cup will pit Qatar, host country of the tournament, against Algeria on December 15, as well as Tunisia against Egypt.

The Algerians qualified by dismissing Morocco 5 shots on goal to 3 (2-2 after extra time), this December 11, 2021, in the quarterfinals of this competition which serves as a repetition, one year before the 2022 World Cup.

Africa will be present in force in the semifinals of the 2021 Arab Football Cup. And there will be at least one representative of the continent in the final of this tournament which serves as a repeat for Qatar, at one of the 2022 World Cup of FIFA.

While the locals had outclassed the United Arab Emirates 5-0 the day before, the Algerians, them, delivered a very close duel to the Moroccans, in the quarterfinals of the competition.

They qualified on penalties 5-3, after a fierce match until the end of extra time (2-2) and thanks, in particular, to a half-volley as brilliant as it was distant signed Youcef Belaïli.

A 100% African semi-final

The winner of this Qatar-Algeria will meet that of Tunisia-Egypt.

Used to competing in African competitions, Egyptians and Tunisians will this time compete for a place in the Arab Cup final scheduled for December 18.

This Saturday, the Egyptians reversed the trend against the Jordanians in the quarterfinals.

They were led 1-0 but tied at 1-1, then made the difference in overtime (3-1).
