A British court has sentenced a man to 32 years in prison after finding him guilty of online sexual blackmail.

The convict, called Abdul-Ilah, targeted about 2,000 victims, by collecting images of obscene and humiliating actions, before selling them to perverts.

The convict confessed to committing 158 crimes against 72 persons who filed complaints.

The BBC reported that the National Crime Agency described the Abdul Ilah attacks as among the most "disgusting crimes" it had investigated.

The agency said that the ages of the victims ranged from infants of eight months to adults.

Judge Sarah Buckingham called the 26-year-old convict "one of the worst predatory offenders of all time".

The court, located in Birmingham, reviewed more than 67,000 inappropriate images of children, confiscated from the devices of Abdul-Ilah, whose victims are distributed in more than 30 countries.

The judge directed Abdel-Ilah, saying: “There is no conceivable way to track and destroy all the material you have posted on the Internet, which has caused continued suffering to your victims.”

"The abhorrent nature of your crimes warrants long-term punishment to protect people," she added.

At the beginning of the sentencing hearing, the court learned that Abdul-Ilah had impersonated fake people, including a doctor and a wealthy stockbroker, to provide financial assistance and pledged to pay off debts in the digital currency Bitcoin, before convincing people to send pictures with offensive content.

The court heard a series of touching testimonies, one of which was of a victim who was a student at the time of the assault.

The victim recounted how she tried to commit suicide when she learned that Abdelilah had posted her photos on Twitter.

"For two years, this person ruined my life," she said.

I was sad.

I remember my sixteenth birthday, I spent the night crying, I was very depressed.”

"I'm trying to move on but I find it very difficult and I feel like this will be with me for the rest of my life," she added.

Another teen spoke of how terrified she was because of the experience.

"Abdul-Ilah is a sadistic pervert who satiated his perverted desires by controlling his victims, often pushing them to the point of wanting to commit suicide," said Tony Cook, an official with the National Crime Agency.

It is likely that about 550 women and children in Britain were attacked by Abdul-Ilah, who sold more than a thousand hours of video clips to one person.

Abdul-Ilah was helped by a 35-year-old woman, Kirsty Nichols, from Northolt, west London.

Nichols was sentenced to six years and nine months in prison, after she admitted working with Abdel-Ilah to produce inappropriate photographs of a child.
