In South Africa, thousands of tigers and lions are bred in captivity for export, hunt or use for tourists.

The NGO Quatre Pattes is fighting to put an end to this trade and to the suffering of these animals.

On more than 400 farms across the country, felines are crowded, sometimes hungry and without access to clean water.

Yet in May 2021, the government took action following a report on the matter.

Unfortunately, the law is still only in draft form and only affects lions, leaving the thousands of tigers in legal limbo.

Faced with associations, breeders oppose the measures, and believe that closing an entire industry is not the solution.

The NGO Quatre pattes warns about the situation in South Africa in the video of our partner Brut.
