Two robbers who pretended to be police officers dragged one of their victims out of their car on Autobahn 2, protruding several hundred meters.
The 21-year-old was finally left seriously injured at the edge of the road, the police in Minden reported on Friday.
The two strangers faked a police check and were able to move a small truck that was heading towards Dortmund to stop on the hard shoulder near Bad Eilsen.
During the alleged inspection, one of the gangsters checked the vehicle and personal papers to appear.
Suddenly he snatched a folder with documents and cash from the 21-year-old passenger of the pickup truck.
Then he ran to the escape vehicle, jumped into the car through an open side window while the driver accelerated.
But the 21-year-old did not want to let the men get away with the booty and also dived into their car with his upper body while his legs were still sticking out of the car.
After several hundred meters, the 21-year-old finally fell out of the car onto the motorway and sustained serious injuries.
The incident occurred on Wednesday.
The police are now looking for witnesses to the unusual occurrence who can give clues to the perpetrators.
