Frida Sundkvist, a high-profile excavation reporter, is notified of her resignation from Expressen.

The reason, she says, is that she has alerted internally about misconduct in the workplace, and because she has talked to other media about the matter, she tells the newspaper ETC.

- It is extremely unlikely that it is about something else.

I have flagged for things and pointed things out at the editorial office.

For several months I have been trying to get them to listen.

It always falls back to me being the problem, says Frida Sundkvist to Kulturnyheterna.

On Tuesday, a discussion will be held between Expressen and the Swedish Journalists' Association, which represents Frida Sundkvist.

They do not want to go into more detail about what the employer stated for reason.

- Only at the hearing will they present their reasons.

We are waiting to comment until then, says Katarina Dahlskog, federal lawyer at the Swedish Journalists' Association.

Information provided anonymously

It is all about a revelation that Dagens ETC made in November: that a manager at Expressen is being investigated internally for alleged sexual abuse of an employee.

Now Frida Sundkvist says that the information came from her.

Shortly after the revelation, she was called to a meeting where she was confronted by the HR manager and the lawyer at Bonnier News.

Frida Sundkvist says that they investigated the sources in ETC's review.

- I see that as incredibly serious.

Not only for myself, but also for the industry as a whole.

If Bonnier's newspapers completely ignore protecting the right of sources to talk to the media, then we have a huge problem, she says.

- Everyone must endure a review.

It destroys trust if the media cannot be scrutinized themselves but acts as a repressive, authoritarian employer - then we have a huge problem.

"No structural problems"

Klas Granström, editor-in-chief of Expressen, tells the newspaper Journalisten that he can not go into details in a personnel matter.

When asked how he views criticism of corporate culture in general, he says:

- We see no structural problems in our large, anonymous employee survey, on the contrary, Expressen has very good results there.

But the work environment is an ongoing work and we often remind employees that you can turn to your boss, other managers, HR, the safety representative or Bonnier's whistleblower service if you experience problems, he says.

Kulturnyheterna is looking for Klas Granström for an interview.
