An ad that doesn't get through.

Grégory Doucet, the mayor (EELV) of Lyon has indicated that he will henceforth ban foie gras from receptions and official events and that he wishes to initiate discussions with the city's restaurateurs so that they do the same.

Two days after this announcement, the municipal opposition is stepping up to the plate.

“Today, the mayor of Lyon wants to regulate our plates by asking restaurateurs to limit the service of foie gras as much as possible, or even stop it, deplore in a press release the elected representatives of the Right, Center and Independent Group.

It is up to him and his majority to choose what they want to eat, but they stop wanting to impose their views on everyone.

"

" What is the next step ?

Ban the rosette?

"

“What's the next step,” they wonder and ironically suggest, “Ban the rosette?

".

Gérard Collomb, the former mayor (LREM) of Lyon, did not fail to comment on this announcement on his Twitter account: “After the virtual elimination of meat from the menus of school canteens, it is now foie gras to be banned from town hall, with the advice given to restaurant owners to eliminate it from their menu.

Too bad for Lyon, capital of gastronomy.
