“Last night, the action of the police made it possible to dismantle the roadblocks at the Perrin aux Abymes roundabout, the last major blocking area of ​​the road network in Guadeloupe.

Traffic is restored in this area, ”indicates the regional prefecture in a press release.

A curfew in some municipalities

Born of this refusal, the social movement which affects Guadeloupe, Martinique and Saint-Martin has spread to political and social demands, in particular against the high cost of living, causing violence, looting and fires.

The curfew in effect until Friday in some towns in Guadeloupe prohibits free movement from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. in 12 of them (Les Abymes, Baillif, Basse-Terre, Capesterre-Belle-Eeau, Gosier, Lamentin , Morne-à-l'Eau, Le Moule, Petit-Bourg, Pointe-à-Pitre, Sainte-Anne, Sainte-Rose), from 10 p.m. in Baie-Mahault and Goyave.
