Macron's Thursday press conference on the French EU presidency

On January 1, France will take the head of the Council of the European Union for six months.

This date approaching, Emmanuel Macron will hold a press conference this Thursday from 4 p.m. at the Elysee Palace to present the priorities of this presidency.

Leading the Council of the EU, which brings together the 27 member countries but does not govern the Commission, will allow France to moderate the debates by setting the agenda for the meetings.

And the Head of State has already announced Monday that the priorities of this presidency revolved around three axes: "revival, power and belonging".

"We must organize a primary" from the left, launches Anne Hidalgo on TF1

How many candidates will there be on the left in the first round of the presidential election? To this question, Anne Hidalgo would like to be able to answer: as little as possible. The socialist candidate has indeed launched this Wednesday in the "20 Hours" of TF1 a call for unity. "Let's organize a primary of the left, that come to participate in this primary candidates who want to govern together", proposed the mayor of Paris, specifying that she would maintain her candidacy if her appeal was not heard. While the whole of the left tops out at less than 25% of the voting intentions, the other parties do not seem at all on the same line as Anne Hidalgo. LFI deputy Eric Coquerel thus considered that it is the method "which lost in 2017". The refusal is also clear among the Communist candidate Fabien Roussel.

Lille qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League

Lille had a dream evening in the Champions League.

Le Losc in fact won 3-1 at Wolfsburg on Wednesday, a success which gave him first place in Group G. This feat gave him above all a ticket to the knockout stages of the competition, and this for the second time. of its history after the 2006/07 edition.

The reigning French champions, winners in Germany thanks to Burak Yilmaz (11th), Jonathan David (72nd) and Angel Gomes (78th), allow Ligue 1 to place a second representative with PSG.

While waiting for the last phase, our journalist William Pereira will prepare you as best as possible by taking stock of the potential opponents of the two clubs that will have to be supported the most this year in C1.
