Students studying cooking at a high school in Okayama City presented handmade bento boxes to the elderly in the area with a feeling of gratitude.

At Koyo High School in Minami-ku, Okayama City, students give lunch boxes to local elderly people every year, and on the 9th, about 20 third-year students in the home economics department cooked.

The students cooked with familiar hands and completed a lunch box for 40 people in about 3 hours.

The bento box contains 11 items such as salmon grilled with Saikyo and omelet rolls, and the ingredients are cut into small pieces and the salt content is reduced so that even the elderly can easily eat it.

We also use rice, eggs, and sweet potatoes made by our students in high school.

As soon as the cooking was finished, the students went to the nearby elderly's home and greeted "I made it with all my heart. Thank you for always watching over me" and handed me a handmade bento.

The 86-year-old woman who received it said, "I am looking forward to it every year because it is very delicious and there are rare items and I can enjoy various tastes."

The girl student said, "I was happy to say thank you because I devised a way to make it easier for the elderly to eat."
