Every day on Europe 1, a health file is presented to you by Julia Vignali and Mélanie Gomez in the program "Bienfait pour vous".
Doctor Sebastiano Montoneri, invited Thursday, presents his solutions against alopecia, this temporary or permanent hair loss.
There is no magic pill to stop hair loss or to make it grow back.
To address this phenomenon, the plastic surgeon Sebastiano Montoneri was the guest of the program
Bienfait pour vous
on Europe 1. He gives us his temporary or permanent solutions for those who suffer from this phenomenon, also called alopecia, and who would like to find a beautiful mane.
Effective drugs to immediately slow hair loss
In men, hair loss is hormonal. “Anything we have today, whether it's shampoo or medication, can slow the fall. But if we're destined to have some type of alopecia, sooner or later we're going to have it. , there are drugs that are effective enough to stop, to slow down enormously. "
Sébastien Montoneri takes the example of finasteride.
An anti-testosterone, one of the "most effective" drugs for the doctor.
"These are oral tablets", but watch out for side effects, on libido for example.
The other solution is that of mesotherapy.
"Mesotherapy is the subcutaneous injection of various products, vitamins and others, to improve the vitality of the scalp."
And thus reduce hair loss.

Hair transplants, a solution reserved for men
To regain lost hair, there is hair transplant for men.
The doctor explains: "A large bulb is removed from the donor area", usually the back of the skull.
"We will position it either on the front line (...), or graft it slightly behind to give more density."
This is only possible if there is hair on the patient.
But the surgeon reassures that it is "really very rare that nothing can be done", except in the event of alopecia areata, a sudden loss of patches of hair.
For a transplant session, allow between four and six hours for a session under local anesthesia.
"Once the area is treated, it is real hair that will grow back."
Sébastien Montoneri adds that it is a lifelong treatment.
The Synthetic Hair Revolution for Women
For women, it's more complicated, warns the doctor.
The transplant is only temporary.
Indeed, it is not the real hair that is implanted, but synthetic hair.
A solution authorized in France since July 2019. "There is a small titanium ball which is implanted directly in the scalp. We can say that it is like sutures", explains the surgeon, assuring that the risks of releases are low.
"It's like dentures," he adds.
For this type of transplant (from 500 to 600 synthetic hair on average), it takes between 4,500 and 5,000 €, or about the same price as for natural hair.
However, synthetic hair requires renewal every 4-5 years because "it takes a loss of 5 to 10% of hair per year", specifies Sébastien Montoneri.
It also involves constraints, such as washing your hair with delicate shampoos or at a reduced frequency.
