Getting classical music off the beaten track, without betraying it, is the goal of an initiative by the Salle Gaveau in Paris.

Renowned for its exceptional acoustics, the concert hall has just launched a series called "Be Classical": six evenings around current themes with stars of the lyrical art, including the Franco-Italian tenor Roberto Alagna.

“

Be classic

”, but not too much. With

Be Classical

, the Salle Gaveau in Paris wishes to stand out with a more modern season. Concerts, of course, of classical music, but augmented by a visual experience to capture the emotion of the public through an installation of play of light perfectly tuned to the notes and colors of the music. On the menu: rare works around current themes: ecology, women's rights, post-Covid ... Committed and original programs carried by great voices of the moment. Roberto Alagna, the tenor with a thousand facets, had carte blanche and returned to the sources of his art: the theater.

“

For me, opera and theater are brothers,”

explains Roberto Alagna.

Moreover, most composers have been influenced by plays, they have transformed them.

Already Cyrano, when we see the work of Rostand, enormous, immense and which is sufficient in itself, Alfano has added music which further strengthens feelings, which perhaps brings an even greater dimension.

And even if we don't have the nose tirade in Alfano's work, the music fills everything.

 "

His Cyrano de Bergerac not only defends the beauty of the word and the melody, he is also committed to a social cause.

Part of the proceeds will go directly to the Positive Planet Foundation in favor of youth.
