Before the "Gokaicho" of Zenkoji Temple in Nagano City will be held in April next year, people involved in the temple met in Tokyo and visited many people after saying that they would thoroughly take measures against the infection of the new coronavirus. I called for it.

The "Gokaicho" of Zenkoji Temple in Nagano City is an event to open the "Maedate Honzon", a Buddhist image that is considered to be a substitute for the Honzon, once every seven years.

Originally it was planned to be held, but due to the influence of the new corona, it was postponed for one year in April next year, and on the 7th, Zenkoji held a PR conference in Marunouchi, Tokyo.

In this, the person in charge of Zenkoji explained that in order to disperse worshipers to prevent infection, the implementation period will be extended by one month from the usual period to 88 days from April 3 to June 29 next year.

In addition, the number of worshipers will be limited according to the infection alert level set by Nagano Prefecture, and the congestion status and waiting time will be displayed on the website and on the premises.

At the temple, we are aiming for 7.2 million worshipers from 7.1 million, which is the highest number ever, after thorough infection control measures.

Masahiro Kitamura, chairman of the Zenkoji Gokaicho Supporters' Association, said, "We will take measures against the new corona firmly, so we want many people to enjoy it."
