Governor Yoshimura of Osaka Prefecture has announced a policy to investigate what kind of mutant virus was infected in all infected people in order to quickly grasp the spread of "Omicron strain".

In order to prevent community-acquired infection of the new mutant virus "Omicron strain" of the new corona, the national government is strengthening border measures and is requesting local governments in each region to strengthen the inspection system.

In response to this, Governor Yoshimura of Osaka Prefecture has indicated to reporters a policy to investigate what kind of mutant virus was infected with all the citizens of the prefecture who were confirmed to be infected.

Specifically, we will first conduct a screening test to check whether or not we are infected with the "Delta strain," which was previously targeted only at some infected people.

If this test does not indicate a "Delta strain", you should immediately be admitted to a medical institution in the prefecture and perform a more detailed genome analysis to see if you are infected with the "Omicron strain".

In addition, if an infection is confirmed in a person who has traveled abroad within 14 days, the policy is to promptly be hospitalized and have a detailed examination at the hospital.

Governor Yoshimura said, "This is a necessary measure to prevent Omicron strains and will be implemented for the time being."

In addition, Governor Yoshimura has indicated that Osaka Prefecture will set up an inoculation venue next month for the third vaccination.
