Before dawn on the 7th, a fire broke out in a house in Wakayama City, and two people were found dead in the burnt remains.


It seems that a couple in their 80s live in this house, and police are proceeding with confirmation of their identities because they have lost contact after the fire.

After 3:00 am on the 7th, a neighbor reported to the fire department that a two-story wooden house in Shimazaki-cho, Wakayama City was on fire.



Eleven fire trucks and other vehicles came out, and the fire was extinguished about an hour and a half later, but two people were found dead in the burnt remains.



According to police, a couple in their 80s seems to live in this house, and they have lost contact after the fire.



Police are investigating the cause of the fire while confirming the identity of the couple, assuming that they died.



The site is a residential area about 2 km southwest of JR Wakayama Station.
