China News Service, Hangzhou, December 6 (Guo Qiyu) When some celebrities and other public figures appear at the airport, there are often many "fans" picking up and dropping off the plane, but the celebrities are citizens, and their personal information is also protected by law.

The reporter learned from the Xiaoshan District Bureau of the Hangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau in Zhejiang Province on the 6th that a gang used illegal means to obtain personal information and flight information of hundreds of stars and was held criminally responsible.

In August of this year, the Internet Police Brigade of the Xiaoshan Public Security Bureau discovered that someone was selling celebrity flight information clues to the star chasers.

The police immediately launched an investigation, combined with an in-depth study of this type of case, and found that this is a criminal gang that sells citizens' personal information.

The gang used illegal means to obtain personal information of celebrities, and then entered the celebrity's identity information one by one on the self-service check-in machine in the airport terminal to obtain flight information of hundreds of celebrities.

After getting the flight information, they began to sell them in the star chasing group and support group on social software.

Since there is almost no cost, the "profit" of this behavior is considerable.

But this is not the whole "revenue" method of the group. In addition to selling star flight information, they also organize star fans to buy "send tickets."

That is, after purchasing their "clearance ticket", they can enter the waiting hall through the airport security check, thus getting closer to the celebrity and meeting the time longer.

After the security check, the gang members will immediately organize the fans to refund the tickets, deducting dozens of yuan as the "cost" of the "drop off".

"Holding the celebrities’ ID numbers to inquire about flight information, and then selling them one after another for profit, is suspected of infringing on citizens’ personal information. At the same time, this kind of repeated ticket purchases and refunds in order to get close to the celebrities frequently encloses airport passages. Acts such as water leakage have also severely disrupted civil aviation flight and public order at the airport." said the head of the network police brigade of the Xiaoshan Public Security Bureau.

According to his introduction, the "Civil Code" that came into effect on January 1 this year and the "Personal Information Protection Law" that came into effect on November 1 clearly stipulate that citizens’ personal information is protected by law; Criminal penalties are also expressly stipulated.

On September 28 this year, Xiaoshan police arrested Zhu Moumou, Zhao Moumou and other suspects in dens surrounding Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport.

At present, the case has been transferred to the procuratorial organ for review and prosecution.
