Anti-terrorism investigating judges ordered the referral to the special assize court of Mohamed Lamine Aberouz for "complicity" in the assassination of police officer Jean-Baptiste Salvaing and his companion Jessica Schneider in Magnanville (Yvelines) on June 13, 2016 .

The magistrates followed the requisitions of the national anti-terrorism prosecution (Pnat) which also requested a dismissal for two other men suspected of having provided logistical support to the assailant, Larossi Abballa, said this source.

The assassin claimed responsibility for the attack on behalf of the Islamic State (IS) group live on social media, before being shot dead by the Raid.

Murdered at their home

Jean-Baptiste Salvaing, 42, deputy commander of the Mureaux police station (Yvelines), and his companion Jessica Schneider, 36, administrative agent in a nearby police station, were murdered at their home, in the presence of their son then aged 3 years. Mohamed Lamine Aberouz, 28, was indicted on December 11, 2017 for "complicity in the assassinations of persons holding public authority in connection with a terrorist enterprise". He is still in pre-trial detention. Friend of Larossi Abballa, Mohamed Aberouz proclaims his innocence, claiming to have left his home that evening to go to the mosque.

The investigating judges ordered that he be tried for "criminal terrorist association", "complicity in the assassination of a person holding public authority in connection with a terrorist enterprise" and "complicity in kidnapping of minors 15 years in connection with a terrorist company ”, according to the judicial source.

Favorable to armed jihad

The magistrates rely in particular on expert opinions, rejected by the defense, to affirm that he was present at the couple's home at the time of the facts: his DNA was found on the wrist rest of the computer used for the claim.

"The denials of Mohamed Lamine Aberouz, as to his adherence to the jihadist ideology as carried by the terrorist group Islamic State, therefore not appearing convincing or sufficient in view of the elements collected elsewhere", note the judges in their order of indictment rendered Friday.

Mohamed Aberouz and Larossi Abballa "who saw each other assiduously, shared the same convictions and were carried by the same ideology favorable to armed jihad", they underline.
