“Musical Professions” clarifies its position on Hama Beca: He is unable to read and write

Statements from sources in the Egyptian Musical Professions Syndicate confirmed that the Syndicate does not prevent Hama Beka from singing, but everyone who pursues a profession must be a member of it, and Beca every time he applies to the Syndicate is rejected because he is unable to read, write and understand the musical scale. He sings and gives concerts.

The source explained to Al-Watan newspaper that the union asked Beka to apply again after a year, and to work during the year to improve his level in music and voice, in order to be approved in the next exam, noting that Beca had been rejected in the two previous times by different committees, the first was including Helmy Bakr and Reda Rajab. The second time was rejected by Mohamed Dia El Din, Sami El Hefnawy and Hani Shenouda.
