The opening of the observation room, which the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building is opening in the early morning of New Year's Day to have the first sunrise of the year seen from the observation room of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, was canceled next year as well as to prevent the spread of infection.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government opened the observation room on the 45th floor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building No. 1 in Shinjuku Ward in the early morning of New Year's Day so that people can see the first sunrise of the year.

The early morning opening began 26 years ago in 1995 and was visited by a large number of people every year, but this was only canceled due to the spread of the new coronavirus.

According to the city, although the infection situation has improved significantly, it was decided to cancel the opening in the early morning next year as it is necessary to continue taking measures such as avoiding "denseness".

Although it will not open early in the morning, the "South Observatory" will be open from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, out of the two observation rooms in the south and north.

The number of people who can enter the room at the same time is about 100, and the staying time is about 1 hour.

The capital is calling to visit after confirming the congestion situation posted on the homepage.
