Kuwaiti reveals that he died 25 years ago

In a strange incident that caused a wide wave of controversy in Kuwait, a citizen discovered by chance that his name was included in the records of the deceased about 25 years ago.

Citizen Abdul Mohsen Al-Eidi told Al-Rai newspaper: “I had a general power of attorney from my wife since 1992, and I wanted to appoint a lawyer to plead in a private case, and because she was old and sick, I went to the consort service center, specifically to the employee of the Ministry of Justice. I presented her with the general power of attorney, and she asked me to wait until she was sure that it was valid for being issued 20 years ago.”

He added, "I waited for about 20 minutes, then the employee came back and asked for my civil ID and checked it several times until fear struck my heart. When I asked her why, she said: Uncle, are you sure that you are Abdul Mohsen?

I told her: It is clear from your picture, and the original is standing in front of you.

Then the surprise blew my ears when she said, How are you standing in front of me, and we have you dead for 25 years?

The Kuwaiti man added: "The shock made me spin, and I fell to the ground, and after I understood what she said, I asked her, How am I dead while I live in front of you, and how did I die in the Ministry of Justice and the Public Authority for Civil Information, which gave me a 4-month certificate directed to the Ministry of Commerce?"

He continued, "Then the employee asked me to bring my wife to appoint a lawyer, in addition to modifying my status from a dead person to a living neighborhood, so I asked her again... How does the Ministry of Justice register a power of attorney for a deceased person?

I laughed and did not answer.

Al-Eidi appealed to the concerned officials to end his suffering and bring him back to life in the records of the Ministry of Justice, which “due to its negligence, the agency canceled his death and stopped the inheritance collection transaction.”
